Here we have a contender for the "Glowing Review Of The Year" award! Writing in The Independent on 29th April 2007, Phil Johnson reviews the Andy Hague Quintet's gig at Jazzland, Swansea, and piles on the praise for each member. Fortunately we see them often in Bristol and know that this praise is not unwarranted. The Quintent are currently touring with dates around the country in May.

Mercury Music Prize winner Badly Drawn Boy is to play a gig at the Magnet fish and chip shop in Bristol. Strange but true, he asked fans to vote for their favorite chippie on his website, promising to play a gig at the winner which was, of course, the excellent Magnet in Dean Lane, Bedminster. So if you want to catch Damon Gough and company and can't get tickets for the St George's Bristol gig, you know where to go.

Elova will be headlining their very own evening at Joe Public's this Sunday 29th Oct 2006. An acoustic soul trio, Elova are a 3-piece-suite-ass vibing musical dis-is-functioning! (so they tell us). Check out their music on their website and you will want to be at this gig. Promises to be hot.

Local favorites Babyhead are holding an album launch party at Trinity Arts Centre, Bristol on Friday 29th September 2006, 9pm - 4am. Black Seeds and Positive Vibe Sound System will be in support and there is a FREE early show for Under 18s between 5 and 7pm.  

Bristol's busiest world music promoters Cactus Jazz are bringing pioneers of Flamenco Chill to Bristol on the 29th September. Good going as they are only in the country for 3 days - London, Brighton and Bristol dates for those in the know. Chambao at Fiddlers should be an atmospheric combination.
