Stars of the Lid perform with string quartet and four projectors, this Wednesday the 21st at Redland Park Church, Bristol. Multi-instrumentalist Greg Haines will be in support playing piano, tapes and the church organ. Doors 8.30 Tickets £8

Wednesday the 21st of November Stars of the Lid (+string quartet) will perform at Redland Park Church, Bristol. Tickets are priced £8 each and are available from www.bristolticketshop.co.uk.

Originally formed in Austin, Texas, Adam Wiltzie and Brian McBride, Stars Of The Lid have scratched out quite a niche for themselves in the amorphous world of atmospheric classical music. From their almost-rock beginnings to the almost-classical fugues of recent albums, Stars of the Lid have excelled at designing subtle, minimalist epics which sound like they're being played on a single multifaceted organic instrument. They offer subtle, endlessly evolving stories about the dynamics of sonic texture, at the same time seeming to offer a picture of pure, unfettered consciousness. The duo have recently released their seventh record titled 'Stars Of The Lid And Their Refinement Of The Decline' (Kranky Recordings) this tour (their first in 5 years) is to support this work. They’ll be playing with a string quartet and video artist Luke Savisky who plays images off four projectors to produce one hypnotic scene. www.brainwashed.com/sotl

Greg Haines will be supporting, he’s a young composer from Manchester who plays what ever he can get his hands on, expect church organs, piano, cello, zither and what ever else he decides. www.miasmah.com All the best Alex
