Choirs

A choir born out of a long tradition of using political songs to campaign for peace, justice, freedom and internationalism, spreading the message of fighting for the rights of working people, the oppressed, and those seeking the right to self-determination. They sing an international repetoire of union, peace, environmental and struggle songs at marches, festivals, union meetings and benefits events. Rehearsing Wednesdays, St Werburghs Community Centre. 

Formed in 1963 when it performed primarily folk songs, this busy auditioning choir has rehearsals on Tuesday evenings at St Matthew's Church, Cotham.

A friendly, medium-sized local choral society with close links to the local community with about seventy members, drawn mainly from Portishead. The season runs from September to May with three annual concerts, and rehearsals are on Thursday evenings in the United Reformed Church, Cabstand, Portishead.

Bristol's Largest Community Accapella Choir, their material ranges from pop, soul and gospel to folk and funk, with ethnic songs from around the world as well as the occasional classical piece.
