Noisy October at the museum

Written by Administrator. Posted in Bristol Culture

October will be a noisier than average month at the Queen's Road city museum. Young people from all over Bristol will be attending the Unplugged and Live Songwriting Week during half-term. Young people have the opportunity to work with top professional musicians to develop their songwriting and musical skills during the event which has been organised by REMIX, the Bristol Youth Music Action Zone. REMIX was set up in 2002 to provide a wide range of music-making opportunities for under 18s and since then has run more than 20 music workshops.

Between 23-27 October local artists, producers, DJs, rappers, singers and musicians will be helping up to 30 youngsters to develop their musical creativity. Inspiration derived from the artefacts and exhibitions can be turned out as music incorporating new skills like beatboxing, vocal harmonising and body percussion. An end-of-week showcase gig provides the opportunity to hear the work that has been developed.

The week is absolutely free and you can get further details from the REMIX website>>
